Time is money.
Wake up.
Put money on tomorrow's alarm. When it rings, prove you're up: a 60-second mission — jog, squats, or math — that can't be done from bed. Do it within 30 minutes and you pay $0, always. Don't, and the money is gone. (Prefer pride over cash? Stake your word instead.)
YOU CAN ONLY EVER LOSE. THAT'S THE POINT.
WAKE ON TIME: $0.00 · SLEEP IN: −$20.00 CHARGED
Three moves. Every night.
The one rule: waking up isn't tapping a button — anyone can tap half-asleep. Waking up is doing the mission. The mission is the proof, and the proof is what saves your money.
Set the stakes
Before bed, set tomorrow's alarm and decide what's riding on it. Real money — $5 to $100, charged only if you fail. Or your word — a person you choose gets a text if you sleep in. An hour before the alarm your choice locks, so the 5 a.m. you can't chicken out.
Earn the off switch
There's no snooze and no stop button — the only way to silence it is the mission: jog in place, squats, push-ups, or math, camera-verified so it can't be faked from bed. Every five minutes you ignore it, the money on the line climbs. Mission done → name your #1 goal for the day → quiet.
Up on time: $0. Still in bed: charged.
Mission finished within 30 minutes of the alarm = you pay $0. Every time, forever. No mission by the deadline — because you're still in bed, or you just tapped around it — and your card is charged. You can never win money here, only keep yours. That's exactly why it works.
Pick your proof.
One mission arms each alarm. Movement is counted by the front camera — reps from your body, not a shaken phone. Every morning ends the same way: name the day's #1 outcome.
Jog in place
Forty knee-up steps, counted one by one by the camera.
CAMERA-VERIFIEDSquats
Real depth or it doesn't count — hips tracked, reps earned.
CAMERA-VERIFIEDPush-ups
Chest to the floor and back, shoulders on camera.
CAMERA-VERIFIEDSit-ups
Up, down, again — the camera keeps honest score.
CAMERA-VERIFIEDMental math
Problems sized to boot the brain, typed with your thumbs.
NO CAMERA NEEDEDThe intention
Every mission ends by naming today's #1 outcome — the day starts aimed.
EVERY MORNINGAn alarm you can't
negotiate with.
Snooze buttons lose to half-asleep you every time. A server that will actually charge your card does not. WakeStake is loss aversion, weaponized for 6 a.m.
Server-settled stakes
Stakes are committed to our servers the moment you arm the alarm — turning your phone off doesn't dodge them. Complete the mission and the stake dissolves; miss it and settlement runs on schedule.
The escalating voice
Ignore the alarm and it starts counting your money out loud — "You're now betting forty dollars. Get up." — climbing every five minutes until you move or it maxes out.
Missions you can't fake
Movement missions counted by the front camera — steps, squats, push-ups — designed so half-asleep you can't cheat from under the covers.
Fair by design
Wins are verified server-side, charges are idempotent, and a valid completion that syncs late voids the charge automatically. The house never cheats — it doesn't need to.
Make losing
unbearable.
No warm glow, no silver lining. Miss your alarm and the money is simply gone — forfeited, full stop. Behavioral economics is blunt about this: a loss with nothing to show for it is the strongest commitment device there is. You can only ever lose, never win. That's what gets you up.
Or put your
word on it.
Not ready to stake cash? Stake your reputation. Pick a person — your partner, your cofounder, your mom — and if you sleep through the deadline, they get a text saying so. Sent from our servers, so powering off your phone doesn't save you.
Money for your wallet's sake. Your word for your pride's. Stack both for mornings that actually happen.
NO REFUNDS.
THAT’S THE POINT.
A refund button would make this a normal alarm app. Normal alarm apps don’t work on you.
Tomorrow morning,
mean it.
WakeStake is coming to iPhone and Android. Money or your word — either way, it's on the line.
